Research Project!

This email was sent out via skyward this morning, I tried to send it Monday, and apparently it never sent out.

Good Morning Parents!

I am trying to send this email AGAIN regarding the research project that we are doing for social studies in class this week.I'm not sure why my emails haven't been coming through... so I apologize for the fact that this email is coming to you on a Wednesday morning rather than this past Monday as intended!

The students were instructed to pick a person that they admire or are inspired by to do a research project on. This person could be a musician, actor, athlete, scholar, inventor... the possibilities are endless.

We are completing this project IN CLASS. Each student will have time to work on this project daily during our social studies hour. All that they will need to do outside of class will be to simply bring a poster board to work with on Thursday or Friday. If you are unable to provide a poster board, please let me know, and I will be happy to pick up some extra poster board when I am running errands this evening. This is going to be a FUN project and hopefully one that the kiddos will be proud of when they're finished!

Let me know if you have any questions! Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Binders!

The students are very excited about their binders! I got them binders to encourage organization and responsibility, since they're practically fourth graders now. ( I've reminded them that in fourth grade, they're going to have to be SUPER responsible!!)

They each have a pencil pouch and a binder, but I have misplaced the big thing of dividers that I had. So... they're not fully organized yet, but we are working on it! Clearly I need to work on my organization skills too!

We have had an awesome first few days back from break, and are rocking and rolling! They have a new sense of responsibility and have had really great behavior!

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be taking our Quarterly Assessments, as well as our STAR 360 Reading and Math assessments, so the pressure will be on! I know they will do great!

Please don't' hesitate to email me with any questions that you have!

Happy New Year!
